What do you get when you combine art and martinis? The answer was at the Corcoran Gallery of Art for the 1869 Society’s Artini soiree.

 Realtor Jim Rayborn and attorney Taryn Fielder were among those who tried the cocktails from 12 local mixologists vying for the top prize: most artistic martini inspired by the work of a student at the Corcoran College of Art. |

During March, the 1869 Society hosted Artini nights at each of the nominated restaurants so people could try all the martinis before voting. Tough assignment! The host committee above raised over $33,000 for the Corcoran’s college's scholarships.

No Kid Goes Hungry was the theme of Taste of the Nation benefitting Share Our Strength. Over 1000 Washingtonians gathered at the Mellon Auditorium to raise money to fight hunger among America’s youth. We snapped this last night of Taste of the Nation Director Vered Uziel and Chair Vidalia’s Chef RJ Cooper.
